On Saturday August 23, 2025, you’re invited to gather with fellow pet guardians and their families to honour your beloved and forever cherished lost pet by releasing a butterfly in their name to commemorate Rainbow Bridge Day*.
A butterfly release ceremony is time-honoured, family-friendly, celebration-of-life tradition to memorialize beloved people and pets who have passed. Delivering (returning) native butterflies to their natural habitat is a peaceful, healing, serene, and meaningful way to pay respect to a lost pet’s memory and legacy while connecting with nature and feeling part of something greater…

*Rainbow Bridge Day is officially recognized annually on August 28th. Since it falls on a Thursday in 2025, we have scheduled this event on the Saturday before to make it more attendance-friendly.

from BC, AB, SASK, ONT & NS!
*One (1) pet name per butterfly. Two (2) attending guests included per $25 minimum donation. For each additional guest, please add $2.50 to your minimum donation. **Please note: Sign-in / butterfly distribution ends at 9:55 AM as the ceremony starts promptly at 10 AM. We suggest arriving no later than 9:40 AM.
As a not-for-profit organization, Kali’s Wish relies on (and is beyond grateful for!) donations, sponsorships and other partnerships to be able to continue to provide (and expand) our programs & services to support pet guardians and families facing pet cancer, end-of-life, and loss. 100% of profits go directly towards our programs & services. Tax receipts are automatically issued for Canadian donors. Thank you for your support!
Once you fill out and submit the sign up form you’ll be directed to the donation page. Once you’ve made your donation you will receive an email confirmation of registration.
If you can’t participate in-person, simply check “no” in the sign up form where it asks if you’ll be attending (A Kali’s Wish representative will release a butterfly for each listed pet name on your behalf).
ALL registrants (attendees AND non-attendees) will receive an 8.5 x 11 digital pet memorial certificate for printing and framing.
