My Dog has Lymphoma, What Now ...

If you have received a lymphoma diagnosis in your dog, know that you are not alone and it’s not your fault. Lymphoma is sadly a very common cancer in both dogs and humans.

We are Kali’s Wish, a registered charity in Canada that’s here to help.

Start by:

  1. Taking a deep breath and try to remain calm. Your dog can feel your stress and anxiety.
  2. Doing research. The more you learn the better prepared you will feel to fight this battle with your dog. You can start HERE. We have information on our Health Hub
  3. Making changes to your pet’s diet by cutting back on carbohydrates to starve cancer cells.
  4. Looking at your environment. Certain household cleaners and lawn care can be harmful to pets.

"Lymphoma Cancer Cell"

Symptoms of Lymphoma in your Dog?

Your veterinarian will ultimately be the one to let you know if your dog has cancer. But, you can watch for:

  • Enlarged lymph nodes
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting and stomach pain
  • Loss of appetite and weight loss
  • Trouble breathing due to pressure on the lungs

It is uncertain what actually causes Lymphoma, but the more you know about the disease, the better prepared you will be to help to your pet. Kali’s Wish is here to help.
